Whilst travelling as a soloist, clinician or in my role of solo horn of the Brighouse & Rastrick Band I have often been asked when I would record another solo CD. My first solo CD - ‘The Voice of the Tenor Horn’ was a defining moment for me as a young musician at the start of my musical journey, and in the intervening years I have enjoyed a busy career as a tenor horn soloist. Over the past two decades, the tenor horn repertoire has blossomed, and for my part I am proud to have had so many new pieces commissioned for me, or dedicated to me.
 
This second CD is in complete contrast to my first recording, taking on a more serious nature; reflecting my musical journey over the last twenty-five years and showcasing some of the new repertoire composed in this period. Many of the tracks showcase the lyrical, expressive quality of the tenor horn, alongside some bold, virtuosic, and playful moments. The opportunity to express a range of emotions through music is extremely important to me as a musician, and as such I am pleased to be able to share some of these special moments with you.
 
I have chosen pieces that represent a variety of my most cherished musical memories, featuring some of my favourite composers. These moments are experiences that have inspired or shaped me as a musician, with each piece carrying a personal meaning or story that I would like to share with you all.
